VFX Supervisor

Rangi Sutton has been a member of the VFX for decades, with his first feature credit as a Houdini FX artist for D-film on The Matrix in 1999. He expanded his credentials in London studios on features such as Blade II, and Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets at Framestore, before returning to Australia to establish a boutique VFX house, Kanuka Studio. As studio owner Rangi collected an AFI award for Best Visual Effects in 2010 for their work on Daybreakers, and collaborated with Framestore on key FX sequences on The Prince of Persia. Moving to Cutting Edge Post in 2011 Rangi oversaw VFX operations between the Brisbane and Sydney sites, establishing the studio as a long-form VFX vendor for local and Hollywood clients. He was Co-head of the VFX Dept, Head of Pipeline and VFX Supervisor for various features and TV series, including The Age of Adeline, Underworld Blood Wars, Underground, A-X-L, and The Boys. Rangi has always been actively involved in VFX community building - mentoring crew in industry, and has taught animation and pipeline design at Queensland University of Technology, Compositing and Post-production at JMC Academy, and lectured in VFX processes for Griffith Film Masters program.

Managing Director

Shane has been working within the feature film animation and VFX industry since 2005. With a degree in Computer Science and an MSc in Computer Animation (Bournemouth University, UK), his first role was in the USA working on the animated feature The Ant Bully - which was also the first time Shane and Rangi would find themselves working together. Following that Shane was a Lighter on Animal Logic's Happy Feet in Sydney, and Key Lighter at Framestore Animation for The Tale of Despereaux Shane continued to develop his technical and creative skills at MPC with GI Joe and Double Negative on Green Zone and John Carter, before accepting a role at Rising Sun Pictures (Adelaide) as Senior Technical Director for the final two Harry Potter films. His next contract was for Look Development Lead at Image Engine (Vancouver) on Neill Blomkamp’s Elysium. Shane then returned to Sydney as Lighting Lead on The Lego Movie at Animal Logic. As one of the initial crew on the ground, he played a pivotal role in establishing the pipeline and aesthetic of the film. Once The Lego Movie was released, he returned to Rising Sun Pictures as Head of Lighting and Look Development, building a team and pipeline that tackled such projects as Thor: Ragnarok, Logan, X-Men Apocalypse, and Game of Thrones.

VFX Supervisor

Louis Dunlevy is a VFX Supervisor with over 30 years in visual effects and digital art, most recently leading global teams on Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga at DNEG. His impressive credits also include Andor, Elvis, and Thor: Love and Thunder, reflecting a career built across top studios like Framestore, ILM, and Rising Sun Pictures. Known for blending technical innovation with creative vision, Louis is a trusted leader in the global VFX community. Starting out in Dublin as an illustrator and designer, Louis moved into VFX during its early days, quickly rising through the ranks in Milan’s pioneering digital film scene. He worked on Italy’s first digital VFX feature and later supervised international productions, gaining valuable on-set experience that grounded his cinematic approach. In London, Louis held senior roles at leading studios including Framestore, Realise, and DNEG, contributing to both film and high-end advertising. Known for building strong teams and scalable pipelines, he played a foundational role in establishing ILM London before relocating to Australia, where he continued to shape studio strategy and delivery at Mill Film, Cutting Edge, RSP, Dneg Sydney and ILM Sydney. A multilingual team leader and creative technologist, Louis is passionate about mentoring artists and delivering high-impact visuals. His work has been showcased at SIGGRAPH, and his diverse experience—from boutique studios to global powerhouses—gives him a rare perspective on the evolving art and science of VFX.
